What To Do Before and After Teeth Whitening
Before Your Appointment
- To avoid sensitivity and opening the pores of your teeth before your teeth whitening treatment we ask that you do NOT brush your teeth 3 hours before your treatment.
After Your Appointment
Please allow 45 minutes to 1 hour after your appointment before you EAT, DRINK or SMOKE.
You have two options:
- Follow what we call "The white diet" which consist of eating and drinking only white foods for 24-48 hours. Avoid foods and beverages with color, tannins, and high acidity.
- Avoid colored food such as: wine, tea, coffee, chocolate, beets, berries, red or dark sauce.
- Note: If you do consume drinks dark drinks like tea, try using a straw to avoid contact with your teeth. This also includes mouth washes especially blue and red.
- Avoid hot and cold foods. A teeth whitening procedure can generally make your teeth more sensitive. Only consume hit and cold food as tolerated.
- Avoid acid foods such as: lemons, limes, pickles, soda, beers or fruit juices.
- Avoid Tobacco Use. If you do need to use tobacco use an e-cigarette limited it to avoid stains.
- Brush your teeth immediately after eating foods that could stain your teeth. Use a sensitive toothpaste if you need to so you can continue to brush often (after your appointment you will be gifted a mini sensitive toothpaste for this) follow good dental hygiene including brushing, flossing and using clear mouth wash.

- You can purchase a mineral pen for $25 which will close the pores of your teeth. The mineral pen allows you to NOT have to follow the white diet as well as strengthening your enamel while alleviating any tooth sensitivity.

If you’ve never had your teeth whitened, we always suggest going with the advanced treatment to achieve your whitest results. Whereas, Advanced Teeth Whitening is a 90-minute process.
The only difference between Advanced Teeth Whitening and Basic Teeth Whitening is the time. Basic Teeth Whitening is a 60-minute process whereas, Advanced Teeth Whitening is a 90-minute process.
SB: Based on FDA guidelines, you cannot whiten for more than 90 minutes in one sitting period.
As your teeth whitening specialist, we will educate all of our clients on proper maintenance and aftercare of their teeth whitening treatment.
Results can last anywhere between 6 to 12 months with proper maintenance.
The white diet consists of only white foods and white drinks following your teeth whitening treatment.
If you do not want to follow the white diet it is suggested that you purchase our mineral pen. The mineral pen closes the pores of your teeth, strengthens your enamel, and alleviates any sensitivity. Most importantly, you can resume your regular diet.
This depends on what shade your teeth are before whitening and what shade you would like your teeth to be. On average, most of our clients achieve their desired shade within 2 appointments 4-6 weeks apart.
